Block wall hanging to approx 9″ width by 8″ length. The exact size isn’t critical, just that you block it evenly.
Add Fringe to Bottom of Wall Hanging:
FOLLOW THIS TUTORIAL TO ADD FRINGE all along the bottom edge of the wall hanging.
To make the fringe pieces about 7″ length, you will want to cut 16″ lengths of yarn. Cut a total of 25 pieces to add to each stitch at bottom of wall hanging.
Tip: hang the piece before trimming the fringe to even out ends.
Attach to 12″ Wood Dowel:
Using a tapestry needle and more of your yarn, weave the yarn through each sc st at top Row 26 of piece and around the wood dowel (as shown in photo).
Next, attach one long length of yarn to each end of dowel to use for hanging.
Optional: Attach Wood Star:
Use hot glue to attach a small wood star to the top of your tree.
Important Tips for Crocheting your wall hanging
Some things to keep in mind as you crochet the piece are:
- The Right Side (RS) of the piece is worked on odd numbered rows.
- The Wrong Side (WS) of the piece is worked on even numbered rows.
- Bobble stitches are worked on the WS and should be pushed toward RS.
