How to Crochet a Christmas Garland
Crochet Christmas Tree Garland Pattern
The free pattern for the crochet Christmas garland is SO simple! You only need to know how to crochet the SC (single crochet) stitch.
How do you crochet a garland? Follow the simple steps below to make this beautiful garland for your tree this year…
Crochet Tree Garland Crochet Pattern:
Continuously chain stitches with your S CROCHET HOOK and CHUNKY CREAM YARN until you reach about 6 feet of garland (or to your desired length). I made a long chain of 90 stitches.
Starting with 2nd ch from hook, SC in each ch across until end.
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
That’s it! See how easy it is? And if you didn’t have bulky yarn on hand, you could always double up your worsted weight yarn to make the garland.
Hang your Crochet Garland
Now comes the fun part – showcasing your chunky handmade crochet garland! Simple drape it across your Christmas tree, or along a banister or mantel.
The DIY crocheted garland will give a soft texture to your holiday decor and fits right in with farmhouse style, Scandinavian decor, or Hygge style.
Here I draped my garland on a simple pine Christmas tree in our dining room. I also use my CHUNKY KNIT THROW as a tree skirt to add more yarn texture to the setting.
The chunky yarn and large crochet hook make for a nice thick garland. Oh, how I love this texture mixed with the clay tree ornaments!:
The garland would also make a lovely Christmas gift for a loved one.
The instructions for the handmade clay tag and mini knitting needle project ornaments can be found (along with this crochet garland) in my Christmas Craft eBook listed below. They coordinate so well together, giving the perfect addition to a happy Christmas tree.
