Farmhouse Christmas Living Room
Dear friends, I do hope you are enjoying a beautiful Advent so far. Christmas is really sneaking up on me this year, as I only just finished decorating the living room and began wrapping gifts. I wish I could invite you into this Farmhouse Christmas styled living room in person, but sharing here will have to do.
Fireplace Wall
Do you have a fireplace? We love burning wood here and snuggling up with Christmas music and books. Our fireplace looks a little different this year with the faux-shiplap wall I painted a few months ago.
Another change on this wall is the addition of a thrift store leather chair and (surprise!) green velvet pillow from Homegoods. I’m usually such a neutrals gal, especially with pillows, but I wanted to add a pop of green this year. I love how it looks on the chair with my knitted throw (find the pattern here).
I added lots of faux and real greenery on top of the mantel, along with a wood bead garland, birch wood pieces, and brass stars & candlesticks.
This ‘1st Xmas’ tree stump was from 2003, the year my husband and I married. I still remember picking out that tree with him…
Reindeer Games
This friendly reindeer peers over the leather chair to see all the Christmas goings-on. He’s looking festive surrounded by a faux wreath embellished with tree trimmings and my favorite goat bells.
Some frosted pine cones add a rustic touch to the wreath.
O Christmas Tree!
Last but not least, here is our real Balsam Christmas tree. It still smells nice and looks great! I stuck to simple white lights and ornaments this year (including my crochet stocking ornament). Faux cedar garland hangs on a vintage ladder behind, while my faux shiplap is showcased on the other wall.
I love using my vintage Shiny Brite ornaments on the tree – they have a soft greenish/blue hue. A pile of gifts was placed on my vintage rustic bench below…and do you recognize the fabric gift bag I made from a shower curtain?
The pretty muslin ribbon wrapped around the Kraft paper boxes was also a favorite project here on the blog.
You can also find the free printables for these gift tags here.
I couldn’t resist the green tree gift bag, which fits perfectly in my Juniper & Cream theme this year. It’s got a pretty knitted cowl peeking out. You can find the pattern for that cowl here if you would like to knit a lovely gift for someone.
Thanks for stopping by – I hope you enjoyed this little tour of our Farmhouse Christmas living room. It’s definitely feeling like a cozy Christmas in here!
