5 Fun Ways to Decorate with Mini Pumpkins
Do you love baby boos? You know, the cute mini pumpkins of the white variety? They’re my favorite pumpkins for fall. Perhaps you prefer the orange mini pumpkins, which are especially suited for the season. Whatever your preference, I’ve got 5 fun ways to decorate with these adorable mini pumpkins this autumn and the final way is especially unique!
First up, gather some mini pumpkins from your nearest grocery store or farmer’s market. They’re pretty inexpensive and certainly abundant this time of year. I grabbed 5 white ones for only $1.90.
Let’s count the ways you can showcase these itty bitties to their maximum potential…
1. Pumpkins with Ironstone
There’s nothing more fitting to the Farmhouse Style look than Ironstone. The smooth white china is ubiquitous in dining rooms, kitchens, and living rooms that ooze a vintage farmhouse vibe.
For this look, I piled my baby boos onto a vintage ironstone platter surrounded by other vintage ironstone on our dining room buffet.
The smooth texture of the mini pumpkins compliment the smooth velvet pumpkins I scored at JoAnn’s a few years ago.
2. Pumpkins with Vintage Pieces
Similar to a display with ironstone, showcasing mini pumpkins with other vintage pieces is a nice way to feature the beauty of both. I placed my pumpkins on a favorite light blue vintage scale in our RENOVATED KITCHEN…
…and also tucked them under a cloche with vintage blue and white china:
3. Pumpkins in a Crochet Basket
Recently I shared a simple CROCHET PATTERN FOR THIS HARVEST BASKET. Along with using it to hold apples, it looks terrific with baby boos nestled inside.
4. Pumpkins in a Tool Caddy
Some of my favorite decorative containers to use in displays are vintage tool caddies. They come in all shapes and sizes, as well as various levels of wear and tear.
I found this wood tool caddy years ago at the local flea market and subsequently painted it a light grayish white, purposely leaving scratches and dents intact. Before adding my baby boo pumpkins to it, I nestled in some FAUX GREENS and wine corks to give an autumnal feel…
5. Snuggle Pumpkins in Cozies
Last but not least, I came up with a unique way to feature these mini pumpkins – mini pumpkin cozies! My idea was to nestle the baby boos in chunky soft yarn with a contrasting color, and yet still allow the pumpkin to peek through.
If you’d like to duplicate this look, check out my MINI PUMPKIN CROCHET PATTERN. They crochet up quickly and give quite the impact to the pumpkins.
I think they’d also be fun for Halloween decor, considering the dark yarn and spider-like feel….
So which decor idea is your favorite? How do you display your mini pumpkins this fall? I’d love to hear!
