Neutral Valentine Decor with Paper Flowers
When my children were very young I enjoyed decorating full force for Valentine’s Day. Heart garlands, heart wreaths, flowers, glitter, cutesy-cutesy…it was fun and they got excited to see the signs of LOVE everywhere.
Somewhere along the line, the Valentine decor dropped off a bit. I forgot to pay attention to those details and lost interest in ‘going all out’ with decorations.
This year I wanted to revive some of that enthusiasm. However in the spirit of moderation, I’ve decided to focus on neutral decor for Valentine’s day. I’ve never been a huge fan of bright red color, but I do want to infuse a soft nod to the holiday of love with a touch of pink, mauve and gray.

Paper Flowers for Decor
These paper flowers came to my rescue! I stumbled upon them on Amazon, and thought they’d be a perfect fit with our farmhouse-style, neutral-loving decor.

The paper flowers make a dramatic statement in our dining room, since grouping them together holds more impact than spreading them around individually. The colors are perfect – light and dark mauve, pink, and gray.

I also attached a few flowers to a bare branch in the corner. Decorating with bare branches is one of my favorite ways to bring texture and dimension to our home in winter.

Although I loved placing a grouping of flowers on the dining table for big impact, practicality dictated that I eventually move them out of the way to eat!

They are certainly fun to play with. Although the flowers require a bit of time to assemble, they were worth the one-time effort. Thankfully I had a little help from my sweet daughter and sister-in-law. You girls rock!
More Ideas for the Paper Flowers
Now that the flowers are all assembled, I can use them for any event – spring party, birthday, another Valentine’s day down the road. They don’t require water, and won’t die.

Cheers to paper flowers! What do you think? Would you try this look?
And wouldn’t this garland look perfect along with the flowers?
