Free Pattern for Textured Knit Cowl
Yes, its’ still winter here in New England. Yes, it will continue to be winter for another month or two. Sigh. We may as well look the part in stylish winter accessories, hmm? I’ve been loving the look of a chunky knit cowl lately, and they sure do keep a neck warm when they’re made of a soft wool mix yarn.
I’ve got a simple knit cowl pattern for you to make your own and be the envy of all at the coffee shop. The pattern is made using a lovely Basket stitch for a textured look throughout. Pair it with a chunky warm yarn, and you’re good to go!

The cowl is easy to knit up using a circular knitting needle, so that the whole thing is knit in the round. The finished cowl measures approximately 32” circumference. Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
Supplies:
US Size 19 circular knitting needles, 29” (I used these needles)
Place marker.
Approx. 80-100 yards of Super Bulky weight (6) yarn (I used Buttercream Alpaca Solid in color Gray. Find similar yarns here and here)
