Welcome
“Never be afraid to try something new. Remember professionals built the Titanic but an amateur built the ark.”
― G.K. Chesterton
Welcome to A Box of Twine! I’m glad you stopped in today. It has been so exciting to launch this new blog. Although this is my first post here, I am not new to blogging. For several years I blogged over at www.EvelynandRose.blogspot.com where I shared home decorating projects, styling ideas and flea market adventures. Many lovely virtual friendships began there, and my writing, photos and home even got published in a few magazines.
However, in 2015 our family made the decision to begin homeschooling our two children and blogging was put aside as I ventured into this new lifestyle. It’s time for a fresh start now. Why? Because I’ve missed writing and sharing all things ‘home’ with you. I have learned much over the years about what it means to live simply and purposefully; keeping family and faith a priority, while designing a welcoming space within 1400 sq. feet.
Here at A Box of Twine, I will share simple living ideas regarding Home, Family and Faith. It is my hope that these ideas will give you a sense of peace, not pressure. Our homes can be places where good cheer and love abound, without the demand of perfection. Please join me in letting go of ‘stuff’, fostering simple habits, and beautifying our homes for the most important people – our family and guests. I’ll also try to dig a little deeper here than in my last blog, by prompting meaningful discussions along the way.
I’d love to hear your ideas for posts, too. Since it is the height of Christmas season, what better way to begin than providing ideas for simple decorations and gifts? Stay tuned for those very soon…
Welcome, old friends and new!
Cheers,Susan
