Mini Pumpkin Cozies
In my last post I showcased a variety of ways to decorate with mini pumpkins this fall, and one of the unique ways was mini pumpkin cozies. Today I’m sharing the super easy crochet pattern for the cozies. One cozy took me less than 10 minutes to make. But I couldn’t stop at just one…
I purposely made the mini pumpkin cozies with chunky yarn to give them a weightier feel and snuggle. They’ve got a more substantial look this way, rather than with a thin netting. It looks like the pumpkins are settled in a cozy nest.
Grab some thick yarn from your stash, and let’s get creating! Here’s all you need to know:

Supplies
- approx. 5 yards of size 5 chunky yarn to make 1 cozy. I used Loops and Threads Bulky yarn in the color charcoal
- size K crochet hook (6.5 mm)
- scissors, yarn needle
Mini Pumpkin Cozy – Crochet Pattern
Abbreviations
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
tc – treble crochet
You will be crocheting the cozy in the round, so it is a good idea to mark your first stitch in each round to keep track. The cozy is gradually expanding since each round contains taller stitches than the previous round.
Steps
Using size K crochet hook, Chain 3.
Sl st into first chain to join and form a circle.
Round 1: 2 SC in each st around. Sl st into first SC to join. (6 sts)
Round 2: (increasing) [1 HDC, Ch1, 1 HDC] in each SC around. Sl st into first HDC to join. (18 sts)
Round 3: (increasing) [1 DC, Ch 2, 1 DC] in each Ch1-sp around. Sl st into first DC to join. (24 sts)
Round 4: [1 TC, Ch 2, 1 TC] in each Ch2-sp around Sl st into first TC to join. (24 sts)
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Display the Mini Pumpkins with Cozies
Now here is the fun part…gathering up your baby boo pumpkins and piling them together in some cozies.
These pumpkin cozies could also be part of a Halloween display, especially with the dark yarn contrasting with the white pumpkins for a goth or spider web effect.
